FILTATANK FT-300UVP With Grundfos CMB-SP 5-47 Pressure Pump

Triple 20″ x 4.5″ Whole House Rainwater Filter Systems remove unwanted sediment through a 10-micron polyester pleated cartridge, followed by a 5-micron poly spun cartridge to remove finer silt particles, before filtering through a 5-micron silver impregnated carbon cartridge to remove colour, taste and odour. Silver is used to inhibit the growth of bacteria on the cartridge. The spun cartridge helps extend the workable life of the carbon cartridge. Pressure gauges indicate water inlet and outlet pressure and a Viqua Ultraviolet Steriliser kills 99.9% of bacteria that may be present in the water supply.

The unique ‘Free-Standing’ galvanised support frame supports clear filter housings and is fully plumbed with 25mm stainless steel pipework. Supplied with a polyethylene weather protection cover. All systems come fully assembled ready to go.

The Grundfos CMB-SP 5-47 Pressure pump is ideal for large single or two story homes and light commercial applications. The 0.9kW pump is very powerful for its size delivering 38m of head pressure and max flow of 78-litres per minute. The PM2 pressure manager allows the pump to start and stop automatically according to demand and protects the pump from dry running. The pump features anti cycling alarm (leak protection), 304 stainless steel pump shaft along with a 2-year warranty.

With a suction lift of up to 8 metres (with a foot valve installed) and self-priming up to 4 metres, the CM Booster Self-Priming is ideal for pressurising water from above or underground ground water sources. All wet area parts are made from high quality, corrosion resistant stainless steel to ensure the longest life possible

Simple to maintain & operate

Filtatank systems include stainless steel water pressure gauges that indicate inlet and outlet pressure across the filtration system. This is helpful to indicate when the filtration cartridges require servicing or replacement. Usually the filter cartridges are replaced on an annual basis, depending on the volume of water usage and the quality of the water supply.

Viqua UV systems use a custom connection plug with built-in earth leakage and safety features meaning the lamp cannot be activated when out of the chamber protecting the user’s eyes from harmful UV light.

The UV lamp is replaced on an annual basis to ensure the correct wavelength of light is being delivered. The UV ballast power supply has a handy digital day count down timer and buzzer to indicate when lamp replacement is required.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TWIN & TRIPLE FILTERS

The difference between the Filtatank Twin and Triple cartridge rainwater filtration system is the addition of a 5-micron poly spun filter cartridge (in stage two of the triple system). This cartridge is designed to capture finer particles following the 10-micron pleated first stage cartridge. This will protect the silver carbon cartridge which is only designed to absorb colour, taste and odour and doesn’t prefer a lot of dirt particles.

The twin system is ideal for the standard size family home with decent quality rainwater. If the water is quite dirty and brown in colour and there is a high demand on the filter system then we recommend installing the triple cartridge filter system.

Fully Assembled System for Quick & Easy Installation

Quick and easy installation of Filtatank systems is thanks to the unique ‘Free-Standing’ filter frame designed and made in Australia. Each system is ‘Plug and Play’, fully plumbed and ready to go. Systems can be installed next to rainwater tanks, out in a paddock or next to the house making Filtatank systems a brilliant option for all different applications. They can even be quickly and easily transported to different locations such as building or mining sites where on-site water filtration is required. We recommend installation to be completed by a licensed plumber.

All that is required is a flat base prepared and plumbing connection to the 25mm inlet and outlet water ports. Usually the power supply to the pressure pump can be shared to connect the UV system and the system is fully operational!

Each system includes a lockable polyethylene weather protection cover which is tough and durable to protect the system from the harsh Australian climate.

What is the ongoing maintenance required and costs involved?

The Filter Cartridges and Ultraviolet lamp need to be replaced every 12 months to ensure protection against disease-causing microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses. Replacements are available through our online store for delivery Australia wide.
